Last year Greenery was announced as Pantone colour of the Year 2017, it was described as a colour that can give a snapshot of the global culture. It was presented as natural and environmental friendly.

The Pantone Colour of the Year 2018 is Ultra Violet. This colour points us towards the future by communicating originality, ingenuity and visionary thinking. It’s truly a colour that needs to be trending in the world of design, it’s said to be a reflection of what’s needed in our world today.

According to Pantone, this inspirational purple shade makes it possible to pursue a world beyond our own. An enigmatic purple that symbolises our limitless night sky and describes our counterculture and artistic brilliance.

Ultra Violet is a flexible colour which goes perfectly with a great range of colour combinations. It’s vibrant and contrasting that makes it naturally eye-catching.  The world has come more fascinated with this colour, designers and brands should embrace this colour to inspire and influence.

The last time a purple shade won Pantone colour of the year was Radiant Orchid in 2014. This colour is expressive, creative and embracing purple, it also brings out the wonderful joy, love and health within the orchid blooms.
