Leicester is an underrated city that doesn’t receive enough credit for how amazing it really is. The city has many historical moments like the discovery of King Richard the 3rd and the house ruins at Bradgate park which date back to the 16th century. Leicester is also home to some of the finest bars and restaurants like Manhattan34, Bruxelles, and The Distillery.

Think you know Leicester? Did you know that the Leicester Tigers are the most successful rugby club in British history? Not to mention Leicester is also home to some very talented celebrities and national treasures such as Sir David Attenborough and Richard Attenborough, Kasabian, Gary Lineker, Gok Wan, and Sam Bailey.

Leicester is the 10th largest city in the UK and is known for being one of the most multicultural, within the city you will find statues of Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, and Alice Hawkins a leading English Suffragette. It holds the biggest Diwali event outside of India and is attended by 35,000 people for the lights switch on. The Golden Mile is a stretch of road in Leicester that has the largest concentration of traditional Indian jewelry shops outside of the Indian subcontinent, which has the most stunning jewelry! Throughout the year you can enjoy the Chinese New Year parade, the Caribbean Carnival, or the Pride Parade. There is always a reason to dance!

Leicester also features some amazing theatres and quirky mini-golf courses. The Curve is a spectacular state-of-the-art theatre based in the heart of Leicester, opened in 2008 by Her Majesty the Queen! Did you know that Leicester was the first place The Queen visited for her Diamond Jubilee? Caddy Shackers and Tree Top Adventures are Leicester’s best crazy golf venues, both offering a fun and cool mini golf experience to enjoy with friends and family.

The King Power Stadium is the pride and joy for many locals here in Leicester. It has a capacity of over 32,000 seats which replaced the original Filbert street ground in 2002. The stadium we know today was first called the Walkers stadium. Did you know that Leicester is home to Walkers crisps? Leicester is also very proud and honored to have won the Premier League back in 2016. Let’s go blues!

House prices are BOOMING

Last year, Leicester saw the largest increase in house prices than any other city. According to Rightmove, sold prices in Leicester over the last year were up by 4% on the previous year and 12% up on 2017. Overall, the average sold prices this year has crept up to £225,740.

Leicester also offers a range of office buildings and spaces for any business looking to grow and upscale their company – did you know that according to PayScale the average salary in Leicester is 25k a year?
