EverythingBranded.co.uk is delighted to announce we are in a position to donate promotional merchandise to a great cause who are doing some great work in Yorkshire and the wider area, the Yorkshire Ambulance Service Charitable Fund.

The Yorkshire Ambulance Service was formed mid-2006 when the county’s three former services merged. It covers almost 6,000sq miles and serves more than 5 million people across Yorkshire.

The work the Ambulance Service does across the country often generates support and donations in memory of loved ones and families of those the service has helped. These donations are used to support such projects as Restart a Heart.

Restart a Heart is a CPR project to raise awareness and knowledge of how to perform CPR. On Tuesday, October 18 cardio pulmonary resuscitation will be taught to thousands of youngsters at secondary schools across Yorkshire. Over 500 volunteers will be used to deliver this vital training to around 25,000 young people.

Nationally the event, which is now in its third year, will hopefully teach over 100,000 young people the live-saving skill.

The project will also support the provision of defibrillators and community public access defibrillators across the county with the plan on saving as many lives as possible.

Maria Amos, a fundraiser for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service Charitable Fund, said: “Thanks to donations from grateful members of the public, who have usually been helped in one way or another by the ambulance service, the Charitable Fund is able to enhance the provision of equipment, training and services, helping to save more lives across Yorkshire and the Humber.

“We’re thankful that EverythingBranded.co.uk were willing to donate some promotional merchandise to help us support a handful of upcoming events and raise the profile of initiatives including Restart a Heart Day.”

Paul Rowlett, Managing Director at EverythingBranded.co.uk, said: “The Yorkshire Ambulance Service really do some truly live saving work, so it made sense to support them with providing them with promotional material.

“The Restart a Heart campaign is a fantastic cause and we are glad our products are being used to support such a worthwhile project.”

The promotional merchandise will also be used at the Save a Life Centre which is set to be opened in September at the National Emergency Services Museum in Sheffield. The museum has a large amount of school visits and visitors yearly, so the number of extra people to be trained in CPR through this is estimated at 30,000 over the next 12 months.

In the UK bystanders perform CPR on average in 40% of cases. Through the work the Yorkshire Ambulance Service have done they have improved this figure to 50%, but the overall figures still lag behind Norway, who lead the way on 73%. This is a difference from to one in ten people surviving in the UK to one in four in Norway.
