Post-event Interview – Cash for Kids

Post-event Interview – Cash for Kids

Here at we were pleased to attend the Love Business Expo 2017 last week. We were joined by our friends at Gem 106’s Cash for Kids charity, who we donated a number of promotional products to specifically for the event.

Cash for Kids is run by East Midlands commercial radio station, Gem 106. The charity provides vital funding to support young people who may be subject to neglect or abuse, living in poverty or coping with illness or a disability. The charity is a national scheme but Gem 106’s group focuses in the East Midlands.

We had a chat with John from the charity about how the event and the products went.

How did the event go?

“Although Gem had been a part of the Love Business Expo for a few years, this was the first time we used it to showcase our new charity, Gem’s Cash for Kids. We had a great day at the event, met some great people and hopefully some who will go on to support our new charity. We would definitely like to be back in 2018 and have some ideas already on how we can improve our engagement at the event.”

What promotional products did you use?

“Thanks to we had some dual-branded USB sticks that we were able to give away to people interested in the charity. These included a video presentation introducing them to the charity and how their business could get involved.”

How did the promotional products go down?Cash for Kids

“People loved the fact that we had something that they could take away that was useful, not paper based, and was reusable. We were conscious that people get flooded with leaflets and brochures at events such as this, so it was great to offer a modern alternative.”

Would you recommend using promotional products to others?

“Definitely. Events are a competitive space, and you are fighting for people’s attention span, so anything that makes you stand out from the crowd is a bonus. Plus, when they’ve gone back to their office or home after the event, they’ve usually get a whole bag of ‘swag’, so you need to make sure that whatever it is you have in that bag is attention grabbing. A promotional item of some description is definitely the way to do that, especially if it is something that they’ll find reusable and useful.”

John also added:

“Working with has been a great experience for us. They instantly offered to help us and understood what our objectives were. They delivered exactly what they said they were going to and on the timescale they said they would do so. We can’t wait to keep working with in the future.”
