Marketing using National Gardening Week

Awareness and national days are a fantastic way to market your brand. You also get involved in some great events and causes over the year. An upcoming event we think would be a fun way to market is National Gardening Week.

National Gardening Week was launched six years ago and has since grown into the UK’s biggest gardening celebration. Thousands of people, gardens, charities and organisations drop what they’re doing and pick up the gardening tools for the week.

The week runs from April 10 to 16 and this year’s goal is to encourage getting new gardeners involved. You’ve got plenty of time to plan your event and get your promotional gardening products printed.

Here are some ideas of how to get your organisation or charity involved in National Gardening Week. We’ll also look at some printed products you can use to help you on the day.

Building a compost café

Compost heaps are one of the most positive things you can do with a green space. They can enrich soil, reduce landfill and attract wildlife such as hedgehogs.

Many councils offer compost bins but a homemade one will suit these compost cafes perfectly. All you need to create compost is organic material and the natural elements. Chuck a mixture of greens (grass, weeds, vegetable waste) and browns (stray, dry leaves, cardboard, newspaper) will create the perfect compost heap to help enrich your soil.

Plant a treeNational Gardening Week

Planting a tree may be a long-term way of celebrating National Gardening Week but we believe it’s one of the most rewarding. It’s best to resist the temptation to buy a big tree from the off, but make sure you do the research into the tree you’re buying.

Marketing with a promotional garden tool set

There isn’t an influx of promotional garden products in the market but the ones that are available are some of the best looking and most practical products we can source. The pictured set of tools contains a handheld harrow, two spades, a pair of gloves, wire, scissors and a water sprayer. All these products packed in a stylish bag which can be printed with your logo.

We can also source a set of three garden tools in a handy waist bag. The bag has space for a trowel, a fork and a pruner. The bag is made from polyester and can be printed with your artwork.

Top gardening jobs in April

National Gardening Week isn’t just about grand gestures. There are a few small things which can keep the garden ticking over after as we move well into Spring. These top gardening tops include keeping weeds under control, increase the water you give to home and office plants and protecting the Spring bloomers from any late frosting.
