EverythingBranded donates promo merchandise to the Brockwell Lido Fun Palace Fun Palace

Grab your lab coat, jump in a kayak, or grab your swimming costume, Brockwell Lido Fun Palace returns in October and EverythingBranded.co.uk is delighted to be able to play a part.

The original Fun Palace idea was the brainchild of the ‘Mother of Modern Theatre’ Joan Littlewood and architect Cedric Price in the 1960s. Their vision was one venue that would be a ‘laboratory of fun’ and a ‘university of the streets’, free and welcoming to all, unfortunately it was never built.

The concept was revived in 2013 by Stella Duffy and Sarah Jane Rawlings, with the idea of using spaces we all have access to and that are already part of community life, and the first Fun Palaces were launched in October 2014. The campaign, which has quickly grown across the UK, over the channel to France and even into Australia and New Zealand.

Celebrating art and science, and using creativity to change the world for the better, Fun Palaces are for all ages. They are free to attend and everyone involved is a volunteer.
Here at EverythingBranded.co.uk we are please in a position to donate promotional merchandise to one of the London-based Fun Palaces.

Shelley Silas, the producer of the Brockwell Lido Fun Palace, along with many other volunteers, said: “Everything here at Fun Palaces is done on a voluntary basis, so we’re delighted that EverythingBranded were able to get involved.

“Fun Palaces was launched in Joan Littlewood’s centenary year. Since 2014 we’ve been both surprised and excited with how it has grown in the last couple of years. This is the third year of the campaign and I have been touched and overwhelmed by the support we get from all walks of life. People have been very generous.”

Paul Rowlett, EverythingBranded’s Managing Director, said: “Fun Palaces has grown into a fantastic event that is engaging the community across the country, we were pleased to have a chance to play even a small part.”

If you would like to find out more information about your Fun Palaces, you can find your local palace online here.

As a Leicester-based company we always like to keep an eye out for more close to home events. Leicester’s Fun Palace is taking place on Saturday, October 1, at 10am. Leicester Print Workshop will turn in to a Fun Palace for the arts and sciences for a day.
