National Stationery Week – April 24 – 30

National Stationery Week – Writing matters

We like to keep an eye on awareness and celebratory days throughout the year. We believe that these events support some worthy causes and also offer unique marketing opportunities where promotional products may thrive. National Stationery Week is a favourite of ours.

Stationery is our bread and butter here at Promotional pens, branded pencils, printed rulers and customised rubbers are always in our top selling lists, so it makes sense we liked the look of this week.

National Stationery Week runs from April 24 to 30 and is a celebration of all-things written. It’s about encouraging putting pen to paper and getting people of all ages writing. Everything from a short story to a letter, or just a personal diary or postcard.

To support their cause National Stationery Week commissioned research from YouGov about handwriting. Their research found that 94% of adults think that writing by hand is important. 86% of business managers expect applicants to be able to write well by hand as well as their typing abilities.

Putting pen or pencil on paper can be one of the most enjoyable, relaxing and thought-provoking things you can do. Whether you’re using an adult colouring book to unwind or an A5 notebook to tiredly scribble down notes in a 9am lecture, we believe that writing – and art – matters. It doesn’t have to be about creating a best-selling fiction series, it can be just about how writing can make one feel.

National Stationery Week are encouraging people to get involved in April to spread the word and to encourage people of all ages to write. Their seven days of stationery include Signature Saturday and Write a Letter Day.

As a distributor of promotional products, we believe that using stationery as marketing giveaways is also a great way to get involved in National Stationery Week. Providing your potential clients with stationery with the awareness week in mind will encourage them to put pen to paper.

Getting your brand on these products will make for a long-lasting promotional product all for a cause which promotes the importance of writing as a skill to learn and develop.
